Tin Wing Stop Sam Shing Stop Tai Tong Road Stop

Tai Tong Road was the first section of Light Rail, which opened in 1988. The Chinese name of the station has a different word for the word "road", which didn't match the name of the original road. In 2010, the station name finally changes to its original Chinese road name to avoid confusion. This station is located in the central area of Yuen Long and a great amount of people use this station. However, the platform is quite narrow, causing potential danger during rush hour. To tackle the problem, platform 2 (towards Tin Shui Wai and Tuen Mun) was extended 20 metres, making the platform can park 3 carriages. Still, there is no significant improvement in the situation of overcrowding. In 2015, platform 2 was renovated to expand the platform area and improve the design of the station. The station has new green pillars, glass roof and glass wall. It is more modern than the old orange roof design, as shown below. All photos are arranged from left to right and top to bottom by date. The oldest one is the first photo and the newest is the last.
