Introduction of Light Rail
Hong Kong Light Rail (香港輕鐵), is a part of Hong Kong MTR. Before the "MTR–KCR merger" in 2007, it was a part of KCR. The Light Rail first opened in 1988, the last expansion is in 2004. After that, there isno expansion plan, only renewing facilities such as ticket machine. The Light Rail serve the Tuen Mun District and Yuen Long District in Hong Kong. The whole network has around 36 km of tracks and 68 stops. The system's vehicles consist of 140 vehicles, with 68 phase 1 vehicles, 30 phase 3 vehicles, 20 phase 3 vehicles and 22 phase 4 vehicles.
